I notice that this week Saint Valentine’s wikipedia page has a little padlock with the notice “This article is semi-protected until February 17, 2015, due to vandalism”, and it fascinates me that they have to do that. I thought some of this vandalism might have slipped through because further down the page it said that Saint Valentine was once the Bishop of Narnia. I looked up a more traditionally reliable website, though, and apparently that’s true. Or as true as you’re going to get with semi-historical, probably conflated religious figures. There was a small Roman town called Narnia, anyway. Which is a shame because I love the idea of someone on Valentine’s day going “Patron saint of love? He could be the bishop of fucking Narnia for all I care”, and then editing his wikipedia page so that he was.
